ABOUT THE SINGER
Lyubov Kay is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter whose dreamy alternative pop singles deliver smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics. She cites Billie Eilish, Ryan Tedder, and The Weeknd as her main music influences, with her sound often compared to that of Tate McRae.
Kay’s first pop singles ("Every Color", 2023; “Crash and Burn (Need Nobody)”, 2021; “Life so Unkind”, 2021; “Right Now”, 2020) offer heartfelt lyrics and create poetic descriptions of life’s challenges set to captivating, hypnotic arrangements. Kay describes the subconscious tendency to make connections between people and the world around us as the inspiration behind these tracks. “Everything around you is suddenly a reminder of your losses. Instead of moving forward, you feel as though you’re moving backwards, and that feels unfair,” she says.
Kay discovered her natural ability to songwrite by merging her love for poetry and creating catchy piano melodies. Writing relatable music inspired by her personal life and translating popular foreign songs into English was the driving force behind her growth as an artist. Within a short span of time, Kay’s YouTube channel garnered a following and set the stage for her original music.
